WOLVES V LEICESTER, PREVIEW

Sunday April 02, 2017
WOLVERHAMPTON will aim to get their home SGB Premiership campaign off to a winning start as they host Leicester at Monmore Green on Monday (7.30).

The Parrys International Wolves slipped to a 51-41 defeat at Rye House in their league opener on Saturday night.

But they will now battle to put their first points on the board against their Midlands rivals on home shale.

Co-promoter admits they have been frustrated by back to back away defeats – but he is backing young reserve duo Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves to come good and help fire them to a win.

Said Van Straaten: “Obviously it’s our first home Premiership match, so it’s a key fixture for us. Leicester got off to a bright start against Swindon, but we’ll be looking for three points.

“We had a good win against Poole at home, but we know where our weakness has been so far and that’s at reserve.

“The top five have all had their moments, but hopefully either Max or Nathan can get a few points on Monday to help us get a victory.”

Both sides will be at full strength, with Adam Skornicki making his home return after missing last week’s clash with Poole through injury.

Leicester are led by Swedish ace Kim Nilsson and British Champion Danny King, whilst former Wolves man Josh Bates lines up at reserve.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Fredrik Lindgren, Kyle Howarth, Adam Skornicki, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Max Clegg, Nathan Greaves.
LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Josh Auty, Kacper Gomolski, Erik Riss, Danny King, Josh Bates, Danny Ayres.
