WOLVERHAMPTON star Nathan Greaves is aiming to go one better heading into the British Under 21 Final at Poole on Wednesday (7.30).

Greaves, 19, finished fifth in the showpiece event at Sheffield last year and narrowly missed out on a Grand Final spot.

But he is now heading to Wimborne Road with his eyes set firmly on a rostrum finish in one of the biggest meetings on his calendar.

The Parrys International Wolves reserve will face a tough test against a line-up featuring Great Britain international Robert Lambert, Swindon star Adam Ellis, two-time winner Josh Bates and former Wolves team-mate Max Clegg amongst others.

Yet after two strong showings in his last two Wolves outings, he is determined to give his confidence a further boost in Dorset.

“It’s a decent line-up and it’s not going to be easy, but I’m looking forward to it,” Greaves said.

“it’s an event I look forward to it every year, and I was a bit unlucky last year. I had some bike problems in the semi-finals and couldn’t quite make the final.

“I still came fifth which was a good result, but I’m always wanting to improve and hopefully I can do that little bit better this year.

“I’d love to get on the rostrum, that’s what I’m aiming for, so hopefully I can have a good meeting and be there or thereabouts at the end.”
