WOLVERHAMPTON captain Freddie Lindgren leads the World Championship series after winning the Warsaw Speedway Grand Prix on Saturday.

Just like he did in the opening round in Slovenia, Lindgren scored 16 points before seeing off Maciej Janowski, Jason Doyle and Martin Vaculik in the Grand Final.

After claiming just his second ever Grand Prix triumph, Lindgren said: "I'm so pumped with adrenaline right now and I'm really happy.

"It was so cool to ride in this huge stadium in Poland with so many people and it feels amazing.

"I trained so hard in the winter, I've got so many good people behind me this year and this is just brilliant.

"It just feels so awesome and this is another big step in my career - it really is so important.

"It's been going really, really good this year in England, Sweden and Poland, as well as in the GPs, and now it's time to keep the ball rolling!"

Lindgren will lead Wolverhampton when they make the short trip to Leicester in the SGB Premiership on Monday (7.30).
