WOLVERHAMPTON have booked former Rye House man Ellis Perks to guest against his ex-employers in another tasty twist to Monday’s SGB Premiership clash (7.30).

He stands in for reserve Mark Riss who is still out with a hand injury – and the length of his lay-off remains unknown.

Parrys International Wolves bosses moved quickly to secure the services of Perks for Monday’s fixture at Monmore Green, meaning he will line-up against his old club just ten days after they released him.

It promises to be a fascinating contest in front of an anticipated bumper crowd, with reduced admission being offered to supporters, as BT Sport broadcast live from the venue for the first time.

Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “The club as a whole are really looking forward to Monday’s meeting and it should prove to be something really special.

“Rye House have an experienced set of riders who like our track so it should be an excellent speedway meeting.

“It’s a great chance for new spectators to come and experience our wonderful sport for the first time and hopefully our regular supporters will bring along a few people with them too.

“We feel our £10 adults and children for £1 admission offers are excellent value for money and hopefully we have a big turnout in front of the TV cameras.

“From our team point of view we have to look at the new averages and see how best we can cover for Mark.

“We are taking a look at Ellis - he’s putting himself in the shop window.

“It’s up to Ellis to try and make us take notice with a big display against his former club.”
