WOLVERHAMPTON star Freddie Lindgren will look to overcome his Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix frustration when they head to Belle Vue tonight (7.30).

Lindgren saw mechanical gremlins cost him dearly in the showpiece event at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday.

He started the evening brightly with five points from his opening two rounds but blew an engine in his third outing before missing out on the semi-finals with seven points.

The Swedish favourite will be back in SGB Premiership action for the Parrys International Wolves at the National Speedway Stadium this evening.

But he admitted he was disappointed to lose ground on the top three at the halfway stage of the World Championship campaign.

“It was disappointing,” Lindgren said. “I had trouble in my third heat when I blew my engine, that really affected me and I just couldn’t get going after that.

“It’s bad luck when you have something like that happen to you. I felt my performance was good, but at that moment we only had one engine that felt good and when that went it was game over.

“I’m in a decent position for sure, but the three guys ahead of me have got some big points on the board and have opened up a bit of a lead.

“It’s going to be a tough task to catch them up, but hopefully I can do well over the second half of the season and close that gap a bit.”
