WOLVERHAMPTON will make a late decision on Aussie ace Sam Masters ahead of tonight’s Premiership home clash with Somerset at Monmore Green (7.30).

The 26-year-old crashed while on Championship duty with Edinburgh on Sunday and pulled out of their meeting with a rib injury.

If the Australian Champion is unable to line-up for the Monmore men, rider replacement will operate at No.5.

The Parrys International Wolves will also be without team manager Peter Adams – but the boss is backing his side to return to winning ways despite his absence.

Said Adams: “I’m currently missing a spell of meetings for only the sixth or seventh time in 38 years as I have taken the decision to take a family holiday for the first time ever in the season.

“My thanks go to club legend Sam Ermolenko and Mark Van Straaten for stepping up to the plate to cover for me.

“Sam and Mark know the club inside out and I have every confidence they will do the job to a very high standard.

“We are still in a good position and we need to continue winning our home meetings – starting tonight.

“But this league ensures you cannot take anything for granted and we need to be on our toes.

“I expect it to be a tremendous night of racing and hopefully our supporters can spread the word, bring along relatives and friends and give the boys plenty of support.”

To coincide with it being the first home meeting of the school summer holidays, Wolverhampton Speedway are offering a special £10 admission price for all teachers who bring along a form of valid ID. Children aged 13 and under will be admitted FREE.
