BELLE VUE v WOLVES, PREVIEW

Sunday October 15, 2017
WOLVERHAMPTON reserve Nathan Greaves believes a Knockout Cup win would be well-deserved after their Premiership heartache.

The Parrys International Wolves will head to Belle Vue looking to defend a 10-point lead in the second leg of the final on Monday night (7.30) as they search for a perfect end to the season.

Greaves, who won the club’s Young Rider of the Year award at their end of season presentation on Friday, insists their injury-hit side can come out on top at the National Speedway Stadium.

Said Greaves: “It’s going to be tough, but we’ve got to go there and believe we can win it.

“It would be a great way to end the season, by winning the Cup, and I think we deserve it after how close we came in the league.

“Obviously we’ve got a lot of injury problems but I think they’ll be missing riders as well, so hopefully we can do enough.”

Injured skipper Freddie Lindgren was crowned Rider of the Year on Friday night, whilst Jacob Thorssell was voted Team mate of the Year by his fellow riders and Jamie Griffiths was named Supporter of the Year.
