SOMERSET v WOLVES - PREVIEW

Tuesday August 07, 2018
WOLVERHAMPTON skipper Rory Schlein says earning a result against league leaders Somerset on Wednesday ‘isn’t unthinkable’ (7.30).

The Parrys International Wolves moved to within three points of the Rebels on Monday, courtesy of a confidence boosting 56-34 win over Leicester.

With Somerset unbeaten at home, and World Champion Jason Doyle returning to their line-up after injury, Schlein knows the size of the task ahead of them at the Oaktree Arena.

But with Wolves desperate to secure their first away win of the campaign, the Australian says the Monmore men are heading to Edithmead in determined mood.

“Somerset are top of the league for a reason and we know it won’t be easy,” Schlein said.

“I was guesting there for them last week when they were without Doyley and they smashed Swindon comfortably – and they’re a strong outfit.

“But we’ve just got to go there and perform how we can.

“We all like the track at Somerset and we did well when we went there last season.

“Jonas (B Andersen) had a good debut on Monday and I think the big open spaces will suit him even more.

“It’s certainly not unthinkable that we can go there and get a result and we know we need to start getting some more points away from home because things are getting tight for the play-offs.”

With Nathan Greaves still sidelined, Glasgow man James Sarjeant comes in as guest reserve.

SOMERSET: Jason Doyle, Aaron Summers, Nico Covatti, Richard Lawson, Jack Holder, Jake Allen, Bradley Wilson-Dean.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Rory Schlein, Kyle Howarth, Jonas B Andersen, Sam Masters, Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, James Sarjeant.
